The Federal Communications Commission (www.fcc.gov) anticipates openings for Economist positions (GS-12 to GS-15) beginning in 2019. These positions involve analysis of the telecommunications and electronic media industries, and development of policy recommendations. The current salary range of GS-12 to GS-15 is $81,548 to $164,200. Starting salary will be based on background and research accomplishments.
We seek candidates with expertise in (1) a field of applied microeconomics, e.g., industrial organization, labor economics; (2) microeconomic theory, or (3) applied econometrics. Applicants with financial economics expertise may also be considered. Ph.D. level education is preferred. Experience with the telecommunications or media sectors and/or regulatory policy is desirable.
