Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Keough School of Global Affairs at the University of Notre Dame seeks applications for a non-tenure track faculty position in development economics, with special responsibilities to guide the research agenda of the Kellogg Institute’s Ford Program in Human Development Studies and Solidarity.

The Associate Director of Research will work closely with departments, research centers, and individual faculty across the University to promote and oversee the research agenda of the Ford Program. The Associate Director of Research will be a member of the regular faculty of the Keough School and teach two courses annually, with the title of Research Professor or Professor of the Practice and a rank commensurate with experience.

Applicants should have substantial experience conducting and overseeing field research in development economics, but also an interest in and capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration. Applicants attracted to a university with a Catholic identity are especially encouraged to apply.

All applicants are required to submit a letter of interest and a curriculum vitae to the online service at http://www.aeaweb.org/joe. Junior candidates should submit their job market paper and three letters of recommendation. Questions should be directed to Professor Bob Dowd at rdowd1@nd.edu

The University is an Equal Opportunity and affirmative action employer with a strong commitment to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff and students. We strongly encourage applications from women, minorities, and those attracted to a university with a Catholic identity. The University also considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to status as a protected veteran or individual with a disability.

Should an application result in an appointment, the appointment would be contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. Applicants will be asked to identify all felony convictions and/or pending felony charges. Felony convictions do not automatically bar an individual from employment. Each case will be examined separately to determine the appropriateness of employment in the particular position. Failure to be forthcoming or dishonesty with respect to felony disclosures can result in the disqualification of a candidate. The full procedure can be viewed at http://facultyhandbook.nd.edu/university-policies/background-check-procedure-for-prospective-faculty/.
