The College of Business and Economics at the University of Hawaii, Hilo announces one Assistant Professor position to begin as early as August 1, 2019.
Duties:
Teach three courses per semester, two semesters per year. Courses include Introductory Economics, Introductory Microeconomics, Introductory Macroeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Money & Banking, International Economics, and other Economics courses at the undergraduate level. Some courses may be taught via the Internet. Prepare course schedule, syllabus, and reports related to teaching. Conduct quality research. Advise Business and Economics program students. Maintain a minimum of five office hours per week. Participate in mandatory faculty meetings. Engage in community and University services. Support our programs for reaccreditation of AASCB.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Economics by August 2019. Some experience of college lecturing. Ability to teach Introductory Economics, Introductory Microeconomics, Introductory Macroeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Money & Banking, International Economics at the undergraduate level. Demonstration of scholarly activities.
Desirable Qualifications:
At least two years of college teaching experience as a lecturer. Ability to teach various Economics courses at the undergraduate level. Record of publications in refereed journals.
