Washington and Lee University invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics beginning Fall 2019. Willingness to contribute to our interdisciplinary programs is highly desired. We welcome applications from all fields and we are particularly interested in candidates with major fields in Education, U.S. Health, and Applied Macroeconomics.

Washington and Lee University is a highly selective liberal arts college with approximately 1800 students located in Lexington, Virginia. Successful candidates should be committed to high quality teaching, have a promising research program, and have a keen interest in working with students. A candidate should have a Ph.D. in economics or other closely related field, or expect the degree by August, 2019. Washington and Lee actively seeks applications from candidates who contribute to a more inclusive campus and society.

Applicants should submit online their cover letter, curriculum vitae, graduate transcripts, three letters of recommendation, a statement of teaching philosophy and interests, evidence of teaching effectiveness (if available), and one piece of scholarly writing.
