The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking to fill one or more positions in the Risk Assessment, Data Analysis and Research (RADAR) groups of the Supervision, Regulation, and Credit (SRC) Department. RADAR provides leadership and expertise to the Federal Reserve System on the supervision and regulation of large banking organizations in the area of retail credit, with particular emphasis on quantitative risk analysis. RADAR is the leader in several important System initiatives, such as the Comprehensive Capital Assessment and Review (CCAR) stress testing exercises. RADAR also manages the largest collection anywhere of data on U.S. consumer finance and securities markets. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to develop his/her own research agenda directed towards research on consumer credit and markets, bank risk, fixed income securities, supervision and regulation of financial institutions and markets, and regulatory policies pertaining to these matters. This individual will also serve as a subject matter expert in these areas and participate in Department efforts to exert policy leadership in the supervisory community.
Applicants with a background in areas such as real estate economics, applied micro-economics, panel and/or discrete choice analysis, fixed income analysis, empirical finance and banking, and are interested in conducting applied empirical work and research in the area of credit risk and bank supervision are preferred. We offer training in the areas of bank supervision and modeling in consumer credit and financial markets. Any candidates with interests in these areas are encouraged to apply. Some positions may require participation in bank exams which will involve some travel. The ideal applicants will have a completed PhD or a firm expectation of defending their PhD by summer 2019.
