The Department of Economics at Western Michigan University (WMU) is seeking to fill a tenure-track or tenured faculty position with an expectation to contribute to an interdisciplinary research group in public health. The initiative provides new opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation with faculty across the College of Arts and Sciences. The applicant selected to this position is one of seven new positions in the WMU College of Arts and Sciences that are part of a faculty cluster established to build on our existing excellence in public health research and community engagement to create innovative public health (https://www.wmich.edu/arts-sciences/public-health-cluster-hire). The candidate will be expected to teach health economics and environmental economics at the undergraduate level, with the potential to teach graduate courses.
Successful candidates will have an earned doctorate in Economics or Applied Economics, or be close to earning that degree, with demonstrated interest in one or more of the priority areas prior to the start date.
The economics department offers both terminal MA and Ph.D. programs in addition to several undergraduate degree programs.
