J-PAL’s research group will be hiring up to three postdoctoral associates who are interested in conducting and supporting research on innovative methodologies associated with randomized trials, with several possible areas of focus, such as econometric and survey methods, research with administrative data, and data science, data security, and big data.
The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) is a research center at the Economics Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA. J-PAL’s mission is to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence, and research is translated into action.
Postdocs will contribute to at least one of two possible areas of work:
1) Collection, publication, documentation, and combination of data from RCTs for methods-focused projects that use this data;
2) J-PAL’s new Innovations, Data, Experiments, and Action (IDEA) initiative, which aims to tap administrative data collected by firms, governments, non-profit organizations and others to generate new research.
Candidates should have an active research agenda that relates to one of those themes.
