The Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at Montana State University Billings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Economics is responsible for teaching economics courses primarily, although there may be room to teach some finance courses. MSU Billings is a teaching-oriented institution, and excellence in teaching is its primary focus. The normal course load is seven sections each academic year. Scholarly activity and publication is required. Faculty members teach both in-class and online sections. Faculty service and contribution to maintenance of the College’s AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation is required. The successful applicant will also demonstrate experience in working collaboratively with members of other disciplines.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
• Ph.D. in Economics or Financial Economics
• All But Dissertation (ABD) will be considered, but must be AACSB qualified as “scholarly academic” to teach economics and finance courses, and applicant be nearing completion of the terminal degree
• Ability and interest in undergraduate teaching
• Clearly delineated research agenda
• A willingness to teach some courses online
