The Department of Economics at the University of Memphis invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, effective fall semester 2019, pending available funding. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing a stream of quality research, and fulfilling professional and university service responsibilities.
We will consider applicants specializing in applied microeconomics, especially in the fields of public economics, health economics, labor economics, and industrial organization. We are looking for a strong researcher who is also an excellent teacher and is able to teach undergraduate, graduate, and online classes. The Department seeks candidates with a Ph.D. in economics (advanced ABDs may be considered if degree completion is imminent). Effective college teaching experience and scholarly publications are desired, but candidates with strong potential in these areas will be considered. We offer competitive compensation, summer research support, and an attractive benefits program, depending on qualifications. The Department offers degree programs at all levels, which are fully accredited by AACSB International.
