The Technology & Policy Research Initiative (TPRI) at Boston University School of Law is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to conduct empirical, policy-relevant economics research on the impacts of technology on society. Ongoing work includes projects examining the impact of automation on jobs and wages, the effects of artificial intelligence on industry structure, the effects of the design of the grant-making process on outcomes of biomedical research, and more.
Our postdoctoral researchers have access to our unique datasets and the support of research assistants. They work in collaboration with senior scholars, typically as co-authors, and they also have opportunities to do research projects of their own choosing. The postdoctoral scholar will have opportunities to engage in all aspects of research, including presenting papers at conferences, and interacting with innovation and technology scholars at BU and other Boston area universities.
The position requires strong communication skills, an interest in the economics of technology, excellent data management and advanced statistical skills (Stata), strong programming ability, and good teamwork capabilities.
The position is full time for one or two years, start dates negotiable. Salary is competitive and comes with a full benefits package as an employee of Boston University.
