CESS/FLAME Postdoctoral Research Officer

Nuffield College – Centre for Experimental Social Sciences (CESS)

The Nuffield College CESS seeks a CESS/FLAME Postdoctoral Research Officer for a two-year full-time appointment from 1 February 2019. The postholder will coordinate activities related to the Nuffield CESS collaboration with the CESS India initiative at FLAME University in Pune, India.

Duties include overseeing operations of the CESS India lab; assisting with experimental project design in India and South East Asia; coordinating experiments in CESS India; teaching one course for FLAME University; instructional activities at Nuffield CESS; and engaging in independent scholarly research.

Applicants should hold or be close to completing a PhD/DPhil in a relevant Social Science discipline, with experience of programming on-line survey and virtual lab experiments; designing and conducting online, lab, lab-in-the-field and field experiments; and statistical analysis software (R/Stata). A strong background in econometrics and causal inference; skills/capacity to learn programming experiments in oTree; independent scholarly research plans linked with CESS; and an ability to train/teach a wide range of audiences are essential.
