Post-doctoral Researcher - Evaluating the Social Impacts of Marine Conservation

The research focuses on evaluating the social impacts of a network of marine protected areas (MPAs) within the Sunda Banda Seascape, Indonesia. The researcher will join an interdisciplinary team of academics and practitioners focused on applying evidence-based insights into marine conservation policy and management. The research will primarily center around analyses of compiled household data from coastal communities, however, there will be opportunities to engage in other related research activities.

Seeking candidates with the following:
• Doctoral Degree in Economics, Resource Management, Marine Science, Environmental Studies/Science, Bioinformatics, or other related fields
• Excellent econometric skills, statistical modelling and analysis
• Experience in causal inference, impact evaluation methods
• Strong research skills, particularly in data analysis, quality-control, and data management.
• Experience with programming or scripted analysis such as R, Stata
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel to Indonesia

Preferred (but not required):
• Experience in collaborative coding in R and version control tools such as GitHub
• Strong interest in applied research and marine conservation
