The Department of Economics at Binghamton University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin in Fall 2022. Candidates must have outstanding research potential and demonstrated teaching effectiveness. To be considered candidates must be proficient in empirical research in Applied Microeconomics including, but not limited to, those working in Development, Environmental, Health, Labor, and Public Economics. An appointee will be expected to engage in high-quality research publishable in top journals, be an effective classroom teacher at the undergraduate, M.A. and Ph.D. levels, and assist individual students in research projects, theses and dissertations. The economics department will begin regularly offering an introductory level undergraduate economics course broadly on the topic of race, ethnicity, and gender, which the successful candidate will also teach.
To receive full consideration, completed applications must be submitted by November 29, 2021. We plan to conduct interviews virtually to determine a set of finalists for this position starting on January 3, 2022. To apply, send a current vita, copies of recent research papers, a statement of current research interest, material in support of teaching ability, and arrange for three reference letters to be submitted. We will begin processing applications immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Applicants must have a Ph.D. by the start date of this position, but may be ABD when applying.
