Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Post-Doc will work for 2 years (starting in September 2022) on the ERC project "POPULIZATION", under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Professor Salvatore Nunnari (https://snunnari.github.io). The project's overarching theme is the study of populism and political polarization using the tools of behavioral political economy, a blossoming field at the intersection of behavioral economics and political economy. Depending on background and research interests, the Post-Doc will be involved in subprojects entailing (a) large scale surveys on measures of economic preferences, social preferences, cognitive abilities and political attitudes,(b) laboratory experiments at the Bocconi Laboratory for the Social Sciences, and/or (c) the development of theoretical models to explore the consequences of citizens' behavioral biases and limited cognitive resources on political outcomes. Beyond participating to the PI’s project, the Post-Doc will be an integral part of the vibrant research community of Bocconi University which is home to many researchers in the fields of behavioral economics, experimental economics, political economy and microeconomic theory. We welcome applications from candidates holding or being in the process of obtaining a PhD in any area of the social sciences.
