Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Department of Economics at Wabash College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics to begin July 1, 2022. The initial appointment is for one year, with renewal for an additional year possible based on the needs and circumstances of the College and the department.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in economics completed by August 2022. While we will consider applicants in ALL FIELDS of economics, we have a slight preference for those who can offer courses in environmental economics or entrepreneurship and can possibly contribute to our Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) major. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, an appreciation for the broad intellectual community of an excellent liberal arts college, and the ability to work with a diverse student body. Course load is 3-3 with relatively small class sizes. The college offers generous benefits that include institutional support for attending professional meetings and other professional development. Information about Economics at Wabash College can be found at www.wabash.edu/academics/economics.
Interested applicants should apply online at http://www.wabash.edu/employment/. Required documents include: letter of application, curriculum vitae, statement of teaching philosophy, diversity statement, evidence of successful teaching, unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and email addresses for three persons who will submit confidential letters of recommendation electronically. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis starting in January but not beyond March 12, 2022. Questions should be directed to Pamela Sacco, Economics Administrative Assistant: saccop@wabash.edu.
