The Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics (AEDE) at The Ohio State University seeks applications for a three-year renewable position as Lecturer in Sustainability. Beginning August 15, 2022, the appointee will be expected to teach autumn and spring semesters up to six undergraduate courses per year (18 credit hours), to provide outstanding student mentoring, and serve as a champion for AEDE’s participation in the interdisciplinary major Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability. The exact set of courses to be taught is negotiable and may include introductory microeconomics and data analysis courses and advanced undergraduate and Masters level courses in Regional Economics and Sustainable Growth; Food, Population and the Environment; and Regional and International Development. The mix of courses to be taught will depend on the needs of the department, the strengths of the appointee and the non-course activity load (e.g., mentoring) taken on by the appointee. The appointee will join an outstanding group of 23 faculty and lecturers and will be involved broadly in the academic life of the department including possible service on the department’s academic affairs committee. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but those received before March 1, 2022 will receive priority consideration.
