The Office of the President at Northern Arizona University seeks applications for a Postdoctoral scholar in Equitable Postsecondary Value. NAU, under the leadership of President José Luis Cruz Rivera, recently set the strategic goal of becoming a national leader in equitable postsecondary value, defined as “equitable access and support to complete quality, affordable credentials that offer economic mobility.” The Postdoctoral Scholar in equitable postsecondary value is jointly funded by the Marley Foundation and the Office of the President at Northern Arizona University and will be under the guidance of Dr. Julie M. Mueller, Chief Economic Advisor to President Cruz Rivera. The postdoctoral scholar will lead research and outreach to further understand the rural economic impact of equitable postsecondary value, including leading stakeholder focus groups, developing rigorous metrics using institutional and economic data, and providing support for a symposium on equitable postsecondary value. Other duties include collaborating with NAU faculty and staff on proposals to secure external funding. An earned PhD or equivalent by start date in Economics or related field and exceptional communication and data analysis skills are required.

Anticipated start date is June 1, 2022.

Appointment is for one year, with potential for renewal subject to available funds.
