The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is seeking to fill two Supervisory Economist positions in its Office of Research. Supervisory Economists supervise a team of Economists, Research Analysts, and Research Assistants working on policy issues and external facing research related to consumer finance.

For one of the Supervisory Economist positions we are seeking candidates who have experience in working with large administrative data sets and deep expertise in empirical design and methodology. For the second Supervisory Economist position we are seeking candidates who are experienced in analyzing market dynamics and working with granular firm-level data. Experience with impact analyses to support policy development is a plus.

Candidates for both positions should be able to demonstrate mastery of one or more applied microeconomic fields and demonstrated experience, through publication in peer-reviewed journals or similar research outlets, in conducting complex qualitative and quantitative research. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, and specifically be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate research findings and analyses, orally and in writing, to non-technical audiences.

Submitted material must include affirmation of U.S. citizenship. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply. The CFPB is an equal opportunity employer. Questions regarding this position should be sent to CFPB_OR_Supervisory_Recruiting@cfpb.gov.
