The quickly expanding research initiative ESG for Investors is looking for several ambitious researchers, recent PhD graduates, eager to have a positive impact on the environment and society. The positions will be held within the investment boutique that manages the initiative, Arvella Investments.
Company: ESG for Investors is an international research initiative. Our team is composed of highly trained and experienced professionals collaborating with scholars from top-universities. We conduct innovative ESG research at international scientific standards, matching academic quality with core relevance to investors. We develop innovative and rigorous investment tools with the dual objective to generate great ESG impact and enhance portfolio returns. ESG for Investors is spearheaded by Arvella investments, a sustainable investment boutique built in 2017 by two former Goldman Sachs Managing Directors and a former CEO of HSBC Asset Management. Arvella’s mission is to excel at managing wealth while making our world a better place. Arvella is a pan-European company with offices in Paris and London. Our diverse team spans 13 nationalities. To fulfil our ambition, we expect candidates to adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards.
Role:
Research
• Contribute to ESG for Investors research agenda
• Develop tools that assist investors’ ESG engagement and funding decisions
• Maintain existing models and implement upgrades
• Suggest new research leads and investigate them
• Collaborate with other researchers (academics and practitioners, inside or outside the initiative)
Communication
• Disseminate research results to diverse audiences (webinars, presentations, seminars, etc.)
• Train users on the various tools
Operations
• Manage data sourcing and upkeep
• Perform econometric analysis, model validation and implementation
• Possibility to partake in the web-management of the platform
Requirements:
• PhD in Economics/Statistics/Finance from any field
• Recent PhD graduate with keen interest (but not necessarily expertise) in ESG and Financial Markets
• Python (or other programming skills)
• Econometrics training and strong attention to detail
• Excellent (verbal and written) communication skills
• Fluent in English, other languages a plus
