The Congressional Budget Office seeks a Director of Macroeconomic Analysis to lead a division that monitors economic conditions, prepares CBO’s economic forecast, conducts analyses of the effects of fiscal policy on the economy and on the federal budget, and works closely with CBO’s Panel of Economic Advisers.
The division’s Director collaborates with CBO’s senior managers to formulate and implement a strategic agenda for the division’s analytical work—working closely with the division’s three other managers to oversee research and modeling as well as the development of reports produced by a staff of about 15 analysts. The division’s Director is responsible for ensuring that the division functions effectively and that its work continues to meet the highest standards. The position requires an advanced degree, and 8 years of experience in macroeconomic analysis.
The salary will be competitive with those of Senior Executive Service positions and commensurate with experience, education, and other qualifications. CBO offers excellent benefits and an appealing work environment.
This position will offer the ability to work remotely and on site as needed during the week. Employees can expect to be in the office weekly for meetings and team collaboration and should live within a commutable distance.
