The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is dedicated to achieving the highest standards of excellence in motor vehicle and highway safety. The agency works to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce economic costs due to road traffic crashes, through education, research, safety standards, and enforcement activity. As a research economist in the Injury Prevention Research Division, you will join a team of researchers with national responsibility for conducting behavioral research on the role of drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and motorcyclists in traffic safety. You will use the research to develop and refine strategies for reducing traffic-related deaths and injuries by deterring unsafe behaviors and promoting safe alternatives.
