Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI) is an institution whose aims are graduate education and research in economics. CEMFI was created by the Bank of Spain in 1987, and it became an independent nonā€profit foundation in 1991. The Board of Trustees is chaired by the Governor of the Bank of Spain.

CEMFI organizes a graduate program leading to the degrees of Master in Economics and Finance and PhD in Economics. The current faculty comprises 19 members plus 2 Postdoctoral Fellows. CEMFI is located in a beautiful listed building dating from 1887 in a quiet area in the centre of Madrid. CEMFI is inviting expressions of interest for the position of Director. The appointment will be for a period of five years, renewable once. In the case of an external candidate, he/she will be appointed Full Professor.

Applicants should have a strong record of scholarly achievement in economics, and management and executive leadership capacities. They should be able to speak and write in English and Spanish.

A committee appointed by the Board and chaired by the Governor of the Bank of Spain will review the candidates and make a proposal to the Board, which will decide the appointment.
