The research department at the Milken Institute is seeking exceptional candidates in International Economics or International Macroeconomics at the economist level. Qualified candidates will have excellent oral and written communication skills and a Ph.D. in Economics with a solid background in data analysis in international finance, macroeconomics, and advanced knowledge of statistical programming skills (R, Stata, etc.). Working knowledge of machine learning techniques or big data analytics would be a plus.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively to conduct applied research on issues pertinent at the international, national, and regional levels. The ability to communicate complex, technical concepts concisely and clearly to an audience with various backgrounds and levels of experience is essential.
Responsibilities
-Write up findings and recommendations that can be shared with stakeholders; -Conduct sophisticated empirical research in international economics; -Coordinate research with various policy centers within MI; -Present research findings to technical and non-technical audiences internally and externally.
Requirements
• PhD in Economics with a minimum of 4 years of experience in conducting quantitative research analysis
• Strong quantitative skills and analytical problem solving required;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written);
• Ability to manage own workflow/priorities and meet deadlines;
