Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Congressional Budget Office seeks a Deputy Director of Macroeconomic Analysis to assist in leading a division that monitors economic conditions, prepares CBO’s economic forecast, conducts analyses of the effects of fiscal policy on the economy and on the federal budget, and works closely with CBO’s Panel of Economic Advisers.
The Deputy Director works closely with the director to manage the portfolio and operations. The primary responsibility is working closely with about 15 analysts to develop sound analytical approaches and methods that result in clear, concise, and well-structured reports. The position requires an advanced degree, and at least 7 years of experience in macroeconomic analysis.
The salary will be competitive with those of Senior Executive Service positions and commensurate with experience, education, and other qualifications. CBO offers excellent benefits and an appealing work environment.
This position will require the employee to come to the office several days a week; on other work days, the employee will be able to telecommute. Employees should live within a commutable distance to attend meetings and for team collaboration.
