JBS is looking for Senior Research Associate (SRA) to manage the National Agricultural Workers Survey (NAWS), an employment-based, random-sample survey of U.S. crop workers that collects demographic, employment, and health data in face-to-face interviews. The SRA will direct the sampling, data analysis, data set development, report writing, and assembly of deliverables for the NAWS contract. The SRA may bid, design, and conduct research and evaluation studies and may also provide oversight/management to other projects. A competitive candidate has strong interest in agriculture and farm labor, experience with survey research methods, sampling methodologies, analysis of complex and longitudinal surveys, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and can work in a multicultural, multilingual organization. The SRA works directly with policy makers and other experts in the field.
Position Requirements:
Ph.D. in agricultural economics, labor economics and demography, developmental economics, or a related field
8 years’ of overall experience that includes 7 years of experienced in survey research methods, sampling methodologies, data analysis and report writing, and ability to disseminate high quality reports using survey data.
Ability to explain economic concepts to non-expert audiences.
