Postdoctoral Research Associate Position
The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Texas Tech University is seeking applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in the areas of international trade and industry organization. The successful candidate will work on projects related to international trade (Ricardian, Heckscher-Ohlin, New Trade, and Firm-Level Trade Theory, gravity model estimation, trade policy analysis, regional trade agreements, nontariff measures, and trade disputes) and industrial organization (market power, pricing strategies, competition policy, and mergers). The postdoctoral researchers will work with Dr. Stephen Devadoss, graduate and undergraduate students, and a team of inter-university researchers. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate in coauthoring high-quality publications in economics and agricultural economics as well as writing grant proposals.
The position will be renewed annually based on funding availability and performance. The screening of the applications will begin August 1, 2022 and the position will remain open until it is filled.
Required Qualifications:
PhD in economics or agricultural economics.
Course work and research experience in theoretical and empirical International Trade and Industrial Organization, and Applied Econometrics.
Strong oral and written communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in R, Python, Stata, GAMS, Mathematical Software, Machine Learning.
Experience in writing grant proposals.
Experience working with large data sets, econometric estimations, calibration and simulation models (trade and IO models, spatial equilibrium models, and CGE models).
