The Brookings Institution seeks a Fellow for the Hamilton Project in Economic Studies to undertake independent and joint research assignments and publish on topics related to the Hamilton Project’s mission of producing evidence-based policies to promote broad-based economic growth. In addition to independent research, the fellow seeks opportunities to collaborate with other scholars in ES and across the Institution, and mentors junior staff. The Hamilton Fellow engages in public and private events, policy dialogue with policymakers, the public, and the media, and contributes to the intellectual life of The Hamilton Project and The Brookings Institution.
Ph.D. in Economics or related social science field with a minimum of four years of relevant post-doctorate work experience required, including practical experience with current economic and public policy issues. Candidates should have strong record of productivity with the clear potential to be recognized as a leader in their field. Proven competence to undertake research assignments with little or no supervision and in supervising and developing pre-doctoral research staff. Proven record of distinguished work, a record of publication in professional and academic journals or books, and the popular media. Deep understanding of economic policy issues facing the United States and the world.
