Full Text of JOE Listing:

Don’t let the generic position title fool you. This is not your typical government Economist position. It is a UNIQUE federal job at the intersection of civil rights law enforcement and microeconomics. Our team of PhD-level Economists within Research and Analytic Services (RAS) at EEOC conduct independent analyses of employer-specific data to objectively assess claims of discrimination in employment and testify as experts in court.

We are looking to expand our cadre of PhD-Economists at RAS. You may be our next colleague(s) to join our dynamic environment that values work-life balance, if you possess the following:

- PhD in Economics (with expertise/experience in labor economics) already awarded or expected by June/July 2023
- Motivation for a career in public service
- Enthusiasm for one’s professional work to have a real-life impact
- Strong data and analytic skills
- Proficiency in STATA, R (programming experience/interest in R-Shiny is a plus), and/or SAS
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences
