The Department of Agricultural Economics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant-Professor level in Rural Development and Poverty, Agricultural and Resource Economics. We seek applicants with expertise in development economics and the performance of the rural economy. The emphasis of both research and teaching will be on analyzing strategies and policies to promote rural and territorial development and improve the well-being of rural households.
The successful applicant is expected to establish an externally funded and internationally recognized research program in agricultural and resource economics and rural development, enthusiastically contribute to graduate and undergraduate advising and teaching, and carry out professional service activities. Undergraduate and graduate teaching will contribute to understanding the special problems of rural economic growth, poverty, territorial development, the diversification of income sources, and economic geography.

Basic qualification: Ph.D. in Economics or similar, received no later than September 2022. Teaching and Postdoctoral experience are desirable but not necessary. The candidate should be able to teach in Spanish.
Candidates should demonstrate exceptional performance, including publications in leading academic journals and plans for developing innovative and ambitious externally funded research programs that will advance knowledge of solutions to important problems in rural development. Candidates should also show potential to work in interdisciplinary research groups.
