Position Description

The Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University invites applications from exceptional candidates to fill the Dr. Kerry Litzenberg Sales and Economics Endowed Chair. This position is a full-time 9-month appointment open to tenure track and professors of practice. We seek applicants with a distinguished record to support the Weston AgriFood Sales Program.

The Weston AgriFood Sales Program provides excellence in teaching and human capital formation in the applications of sales for a wide range of disciplines (https://westonagrifoodsales.tamu.edu/). The program partners with industry leaders to develop ethical sales professionals, deliver high-impact experiential learning opportunities, and advance training focusing primarily on business-to-business and expanding to business-to-consumer sales. The Weston AgriFood Sales Program offers the only sales minor at Texas A&M. The program is positioned to become an international leader in sales education for students, corporate partners, and industry professionals in agriculture and other fields.

The holder of the Chair will provide leadership to advance the goals and the brand of the Weston AgriFood Sales Program. The successful candidate will participate directly in teaching and mentoring and will lead the program’s curriculum and policy development to assure the sales curriculum is current, informed by scholarship, and makes a positive contribution to the sales profession and industry stakeholders.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate a path for developing an impactful research program on theories, methods, and practices broadly related to sales. This research agenda may emerge from diverse fields, including agricultural economics, business, managerial economics, behavioral sciences, or other related disciplines. Continued growth in the number and diversity of students and industry partners is a priority for the program.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. degree is required, and experience in business-to-business and/or business-to-consumer sales is desired.
