The University of North Carolina Asheville Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Economics to begin Fall 2023. The successful candidate will teach 3 courses (12 contact hours) per semester. Each year’s course mix will include multiple sections of Corporate Finance as well as Introductory Economic Analysis and elective courses. Support of one or more of our core courses, including our senior research seminar, is also desired. We are open to electives from any field including finance and non-finance fields such as Empirical Macroeconomics, Regional Economics, Public Economics, or Health Economics. Preferred finance topics include Climate Finance, Financial Institutions and Systems Reform, Decolonizing Wealth, and Behavioral Finance. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to contribute to a breadth of finance and other offerings, from introductory to senior levels, as well as an interest and ability to engage in undergraduate research with students. Individuals with a passion for undergraduate teaching and interest in a career at an institution focused on the liberal arts are strongly encouraged to apply.
