Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Economics at Columbia University working under the supervision of Professor Joseph E. Stiglitz

One or more postdoctoral fellowships in economics are being offered through Columbia University to be supervised by Professor Joseph E. Stiglitz. The Fellows will conduct their own research on a broad range of topics, including research in inequality, and its links with macroeconomics and market power, including in the labor market; macroeconomics, research advancing our understanding of the explanations of deep downturns and structural transformations, macro-economic externalities, financial market and other market interlinkages, etc.; macroeconomic and structural implications of the pandemic; inflation; the role expectations and deep uncertainty for macroeconomic fluctuations and crises; sovereign debt crises resolution; analyses of market power and mis- and disinformation, including in the media, implications for systemic economic performance, and appropriate and effective policy responses, and artificial intelligence and its effects on macroeconomic dynamics, distribution and long-run growth. The fellowships will last up to one year in duration, and occasionally, subject to the availability of funds, renewed for a second year, and the Fellows will participate in the research community at Columbia.

Compensation and Application Process

The salary, benefits, and research funds for the position will be competitive with other postdoctoral fellowships.
