The Korea Institute of Local Finance (KILF) located in Seoul is a Korea’s leading think tank established in 2012. It is a public research institute funded by 243 local governments in Korea and maintains a close working relationship with Ministry of the Interior and Safety. KILF conducts in-depth research on local tax, local finance, intergovernmental fiscal relations, and regional development. It aims to provide policy recommendations to enhance fiscal decentralization and local fiscal autonomy. We plan to aggressively expand our research capacity and seek qualified applicants with expertise in local tax, public finance, regional economics and/or state-local finance. However, applicants in all areas are encouraged to apply. A successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in economics by the time of employment and is expected to work well under interdependent working conditions.
