The successful candidate will have, or show exceptional promise for developing, an outstanding teaching portfolio that contributes to one of the three following areas of instructional emphasis: econometrics and data science; game theory, IO, and microeconomic theory; or macroeconomics and related topics. Depending on the instructional area of emphasis, courses taught could include a mix of introductory and intermediate economics courses, electives relevant to the candidate’s expertise, and master’s level courses. We seek individuals who are committed to, and show evidence of, excellence in economic education and instructional pedagogy, who can provide leadership in co-curricular and extra-curricular program development, and who wish to fully engage in all aspects of the academic life of the School.

Required application materials include a cover letter that makes clear which of the three instructional emphasis areas the candidate is applying for, along with specific teaching experience and interest within that area. Also required are a statement of teaching philosophy that includes the candidate’s approach to inclusivity in teaching and mentorship of students, and teaching evaluations that demonstrate effective teaching across multiple courses.

The anticipated start date for this position is August 1, 2023. Candidates should have a PhD in economics, or all requirements for the Ph.D. degree completed by August 1, 2023. Applications should be submitted through both the American Economic Association’s Job Openings for Economists website (https://www.aeaweb.org/joe/), and through the external link provided below.

Georgia Tech is an equal education/employment opportunity institution dedicated to building a diverse community. We strongly encourage applications from women, underrepresented minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.
