ECU’s Integrated Coastal Programs seeks an economic or ecological modeler into a research-intensive tenure-track assistant professor with an expected start date of August 2023. The successful candidates will build a strong externally funded research program; teach and develop courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and provide professional service. These expectations include developing research collaborations with other faculty members of DCS, ECU, partner institutions, and elsewhere.

We seek a candidate with demonstrated ability in integrating disciplinary models and approaches that facilitates research into complex environmental issues. A background in economics, biology, or ecology is welcome, as is the ability to communicate and work with colleagues across disciplines in the social, physical, and natural sciences. The successful candidate will work with a cohort of natural, physical, and social scientists to creatively address critical coastal issues. Core disciplinary expertise could be in Economics, Biology, or a related social science or natural science field.

Doctoral degree is required. ABD candidates may be initially appointed with the probationary term rank of Assistant Professor and must have the terminal degree conferred prior to first reappointment.
