New Mexico State University is seeking applicants for a tenure track assistant or associate professor position in public utility regulation. Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field is required. Preferred qualifications include that the candidate have 3 or more years of work experience in utility regulation such as at a regulatory commission, consumer advocate office, or a regulatory position at a utility company. It is expected that the candidate will show an interest in teaching and have the potential to accomplish significant research.
NMSU’s College of Business offers a Master of Economics concentration, an MBA concentration, and a graduate certificate all in public utility regulation. The College of Business houses the Center for Public Utilities, and the successful candidate for this position will be expected to participate in the Center’s workshops provided to industry professionals. Night and distance education teaching may be required.
