Hunan University is honored as an “Ancient Millennium Academy, Famous Centennial University” recently. As an open, multidisciplinary, comprehensive and research-intensive university, Hunan University has been directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education ever since it merged with College of Hunan Finance and Economics in 2000, which is also a special funded key university in the projects of “211”, “985” and “Double top first class university plan” sponsored by the Ministry of Education. The College of Finance and Statistics (CFS) at Hunan University has been one of the top programs in China since 1960s. In 2010, to further develop and promote modern finance and statistics, Hunan University established the College of Finance and Statistics by merging the School of Finance and School of Statistics. The finance subject is the major supporting one for Project “211”, “985”and “Double First-Class University Project” in Hunan University. Faculties at CFS have published on decent academic journals such as Annals of Statistics, Biometrika, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal Operation Research, Econometric Reviews, etc.

Junior candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. degree by August 2023 and show evidence of promising research ability. Senior candidates must have a Ph.D. degree and a demonstrably strong research record. Competitive salary (annual salary, RMB 400,000-800,000, pretax), research grant (RMB 150,000 for assistant professor, RMB 300, 000 for associate professor, RMB 500, 000 for professor), and housing subsidy (pretax, RMB 250,000 for assistant professor, RMB 400, 000 for associate professor, RMB 500, 000 for professor) are provided, with a regular teaching load of 2 courses per year.
