The Faculty of Business and Economics at the Georg-August-University Göttingen invites applications for a

Junior Professorship in Development Economics

to be filled on April 1, 2023. The position is offered on a temporary basis for three years. If the interim evaluation is positive, the employment contract will be extended for up to three additional years. The salary commensurates with W1 BBesO.

Sought are team-oriented and committed applicants with potential
for outstanding publications on topics in development economics. The position holder will focus in research on issues of development economics, have a quantitative research profile and contribute to relevant collaborative initiatives of the faculty and university. It is expected that the position holder will participate appropriately in the teaching of economics in the Faculty's Bachelor's and Master's programs, especially the new Bachelor's program in Sustainable Development Studies, the Master's program in Development Economics, as well as in the doctoral program and the Göttingen Graduate School of Social Sciences. The University emphasizes research-oriented teaching.

Preconditions for appointment are laid down in § 25 of the Higher Education Law of Lower Saxony of 26 February 2007 (Official Law Gazette of Lower Saxony, Nds. GVBl. 5/ 2007 p. 69). As a Public Law Foundation, the University of Göttingen holds the right of appointment. Further details will be explained on inquiry.
