Position Description
The School of Public Health at Texas A&M University invites applications for four faculty positions in the Department of Health Policy & Management. All four positions are tenure/tenure-track and open rank. Cluster hires are possible and salary will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidates will work with multidisciplinary academic teams to teach courses in health policy and management, health administration, and health services research, provide mentoring for masters and doctoral students, and contribute to health policy scholarship. These 9-month, hard-money appointments would start August 1, 2023, although an earlier start date is possible. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled; however, for best consideration candidates should apply prior to December 16, 2022. Successful applicants are expected to conduct independent and collaborative research, obtain extramural funding, maintain a robust publication record, and contribute to the Department's educational initiatives. Candidates at the associate professor level or higher should have an established record of independent funding and an enthusiasm for mentoring junior faculty.

Qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent degree, with a focus in health policy or a related field including: public policy, health administration, healthcare management, health services research, political science, economics, or law from an accredited institution. Successful candidates’ scholarship will be aligned with at least one of the School’s seven centers:

• USA Center for Rural Public Health Preparedness,
• Southwest Rural Health Research Center,
• Center for Health & Nature,
• Center for Community Health Development,
• Center for Population Health and Aging,
• Ergonomics Center, and
• Center for Health Equity & Evaluation Research.

About the Department of Health Policy & Management
The Department has 12 tenured and tenure track faculty members, 6 non-tenure track faculty, and 2 staff members, and is home to more than 120 graduate students. It offers a traditional MPH degree with a concentration in Health Policy & Management, and a PhD in Health Services Research. The Department also houses a CAHME-accredited MHA degree program that is well ranked by U.S. News and World Report. The MHA program has a resident track for students in College Station and an executive track delivered at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Additionally, Department faculty teach in the School’s Bachelor of Science in Public Health generalist degree program, which has more than 800 majors.

The Department has a commitment to scholarly inquiry in a broad spectrum of areas. Research, scholarship and creative activities in the department represent a wide array of disciplines, expertise, and interests.
