Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Vienna School of International Studies (Diplomatische Akademie Wien) is proposing the appointment of a Postdoctoral Fellow in International Studies for two years, from 25 September 2023. Geared towards promoting the professional development of the appointee, he/she will focus on his/her own research, do a comparably limited amount of graduate teaching, and help with the supervision of master thesis.
The successful candidate must hold – or have evidence of the imminent completion of – a doctorate in Economics. We seek candidates working in all areas of empirical macroeconomics, including but not limited to monetary policy and central banking, international economics and international finance, growth econometrics and developing economics as well as environmental economics. Excellent knowledge of econometrics, strong coding skills (preferably in the software R) as well as previous teaching experience are required. Previously taught courses in introductions to quantitative methods are an asset.
The Vienna School of International Studies is a professional school, specialized in the interdisciplinary training of graduate students, and an associate member of APSIA. The presence of international organizations in Vienna makes for excellent research opportunities, in particular for research dealing with international economics, governance and multilateralism broadly defined.
The closing date for applications is Sunday, 29 January 2023, midnight.
Depending on seniority and experience, the postdoctoral fellow will be offered a yearly salary (before taxes and social security contribution) between EUR 36.000 and 40.000.
Please apply online at https://application.da-vienna.ac.at/postdoc/Application. Your curriculum vitae, your research agenda (5-10 pages), and teaching documentation (e.g., syllabi of courses taught, student evaluations, statement on teaching philosophy, etc) may be sent to us by e-mail (postdoc@da-vienna.ac.at) or mail (Genny Chiarandon, Vienna School of International Studies, Favoritenstrasse 15a, 1040 Vienna, Austria).
