Full Text of JOE Listing:

The Data Hub: Tulane Center for Data Literacy seeks to hire three (3) Professors of Practice in Data, who will teach multi-disciplinary courses in data literacy, presentation, management, or analysis. The Data Hub is a new center at Tulane University that promotes, teaches, and supports data literacy, for students, faculty, and with the broader community. Data Hub programming will include courses, workshops, grants, academic programming, and events on data literacy, analysis, or management.
This position has a teaching load of two courses per semester (i.e., a 2/2), which is the same as most tenure-track faculty at Tulane University.
In addition to teaching, the Professors of Practice will develop and facilitate a few co-curricular experiences each semester, such as workshops or events for students, faculty, or community partners. The Professors of Practice will also have a role in helping direct and manage the focus and trajectory of the Data Hub as active and key partners. Conducting research is not a requirement for the Professor of Practice positions, but data-related research can take the place of some service work, especially for junior faculty trying to publish research stemming from their dissertation.
