About the Research Project

DEVORHBIOSHIP focuses on the interplay of biology, shocks, investments and policies in the developmental origins of health. Dr. Gabriella Conti is the sole Principal Investigator (PI) and responsible for leading and executing this exciting research project, which has available rich resources, such as: ongoing national birth cohorts followed into later life, administrative registry-based linked data, and unique randomised control trials in the prenatal period and the first five years of life; many datasets have available biomarkers, including genetic data.
The main aims of this research project are to elucidate the mechanisms through which different early life shocks and policies, starting in the prenatal period, affect the development of health throughout the life course.

About the Position

• Develop and estimate economic models of parental investment in child development, and of the production of health across the lifecycle, incorporating shocks and policies, and the role of biology; contribute to the writing up and dissemination of the results.
• Contribute to the design, implementation and analysis of randomized controlled trials to promote child development and women’s well-being.
