Full Text of JOE Listing:
The Independent Budget Office (IBO) is seeking an economist with a keen interest in public policy and property taxes. IBO provides nonpartisan information on the NYC budget and tax revenues to elected officials and the public. The economics team conducts fiscal policy research, generates economic and revenue forecasts, and responds to information requests.
Qualifications:
Candidates with tax policy analysis are strongly preferred. A Ph.D. in Economics, Public Policy, or related field is preferred. Experience in an applied research organization and writing for a policy-oriented audience a plus.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate skills in quantitative research and policy analysis. Commitment to impartial research is essential. Must be comfortable working collaboratively, juggling multiple tasks, and interacting with a variety of stakeholders. Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines is critical.
