The Department of Technology Management and Innovation at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for a full time, non-tenured, renewable faculty position in:

or a closely related discipline, at the level of Industry (teaching) Assistant/Associate Professor, with a start date of Fall 2023. Additionally, this position will serve as the Deputy Academic Director of the M.S. Management of Technology (MOT) Program.

Job description
An Industry Professor's primary roles are teaching, mentoring and educational innovation. The position will also entail administrative work and outreach in order to ensure the successful delivery and growth of the MOT program. The teaching load for an Industry Faculty is 3 courses/academic semester (Spring and Fall), but while you are serving as the Deputy Academic Director, you will teach 2 courses/academic semester. Specific teaching assignments are determined based on the needs in the MOT program.

Deputy Academic Director Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the Academic Director to make recommendations on curricular development and other academic issues.

- Work with the Academic Director in monitoring/evaluating faculty performance and advise the Academic Director in formulating recommendations for adjunct faculty hiring.

- In consultation with the academic program director, the Deputy Director assigns and manages faculty teaching assignments so that equitable workloads are distributed among MOT faculty.

- Participate in student recruitment and orientation events sponsored by TMI/Tandon/NYU.

- Work with Academic Advisors on degree exceptions and credit evaluations.

- Primary Point of Contact for academic integrity issues/student complaints/faculty requests.

- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Tandon/NYS Assessment.

- Complete projects at the request of the Academic Director.

Qualifications
We invite applications from Faculty members or industry leaders with an exceptional record in Technology Strategy, Economics of Technological Change, Network Economics, or a closely related discipline. You should be an excellent teacher and mentor. You should have a Ph.D. in a closely related discipline and a record of industrial experience and/or teaching in these areas.

Additional Information
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual (9 month) base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 for the Industry Assistant Professor rank and $90,000 - $130,000 for the Industry Associate Professor rank. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
