The Graduate School of Economics at Kobe University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Associate Professor in International Economics (International Trade, Development Economics, International Investment) to begin on March 7th, 2023. The tenure-track period is five years and a tenure review will be conducted by the end of the fourth year. For an applicant with a very good record of high-quality research, the tenured position might be considered without going into the tenure track procedure.

The successful candidate must be able to teach basic subjects (e.g., introductory economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, statistics, and mathematics for economics) in addition to specialized subjects in international economics.

The candidate must meet all of the following criteria: (1) the candidate holds a PhD degree or is expected to get a PhD by the date of appointment; (2) the candidate demonstrates a record of high-quality research in a specialized field (It is desirable that at least one empirical study on international trade is included); (3) the candidate is able to give lectures both in Japanese and in English.
