London Business School is a leading international centre of business education and research. The Department of Economics at London Business School is seeking to recruit a Research Fellow for an ESRC funded project (“Investigating an Economic Longevity Dividend” - https://longevitydividend.london.edu ) under the direction of Professor Andrew Scott (www.profandrewjscott.com ).
The Research Fellow should have a strong grounding in macroeconomics and life cycle models. A knowledge of health and demography are advantages. The grant consists of a variety of projects requiring different skills. Candidates should either possess i) strong empirical skills, familiarity with large datasets and appropriate coding skills and/or ii) strong numerical methods skills and the ability to work with heterogeneous life cycle models. The candidate should have strong project management skills. The projects involve collaborating with researchers based in leading North American institutions.
The successful candidate will have a PhD from a leading institution or be near completion.
The post will offer substantial opportunity to both participate in and contribute to the project and resulting papers and provide funding for conference attendance. Candidates should provide in their application a detailed outline of how their experience and training would enable them to contribute to the research project and details of their own research, if relevant. The ideal starting date is around July 2023 but with some flexibility.
The post will be offered on a fixed-term full-time contract for a period ending August 2024. Salary will be up to £43,660 plus London weighting (£2,134) , depending upon relevant qualifications and experience.
