The Center for the Blue Economy of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey is searching for a Research Associate in the field of environmental and natural resource economics to assist in preparing estimates of natural capital for ocean and coastal resources. The Research Associate will contribute to the development of natural capital estimates for ocean resources in execution of the National Strategy to Develop Statistics for Environmental-Economic Decisions. The project will develop estimates for the creation of natural capital accounts consistent with the UN System of Environmental-Economic Accounts.
Qualifications include a minimum of a master’s degree in environmental economics or a related field and demonstrated work experience in the field. Substantial familiarity with data management and analysis software as well as strong skills in GIS software are desired. Familiarity with ocean and coastal resources highly recommended.
The position is full time. Remote work is expected, though the candidate may locate in Monterey, California if they choose. The position is open until filled.
