I seek a highly skilled and driven individual to work as a full-time Researcher to help build a database of patents reading on Food and Drug Administration approved biologics.

Start date will ideally be summer or fall of 2023, with some flexibility. I prefer applicants who can work for two years.

Job responsibilities will include collecting and analyzing patents to determine whether the patent’s claims read on an FDA approved biologic. This entails reading the claims of a patent and determining whether they would be infringed by producing the biologic. Other job responsibilities are helping to build a database of such patents. I emphasize mentoring, attending seminars, and becoming part of research communities.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in biological science or related discipline. This position is ideal for candidates looking to apply to a JD program. I welcome candidates with strong biological science backgrounds who are looking for more exposure to intellectual property law. Attention to detail and self-motivation are highly valued. I especially encourage applications from people of color, women, and other groups under-represented in intellectual property law.

The position is remote from anywhere in the US; the Researcher must be available during CST workday hours.
