Position Description: Full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank starting in August 2024. All areas of interest will be considered. Teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate and/or M.B.A. levels.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Economics. A.B.D.s in advanced dissertation stages will also be considered, but the degree must be conferred by the start date (8/1/2024). Candidates should demonstrate the potential for excellent teaching, research, and service to the university and profession. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach online and teach alternative delivery formats.

Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience. Interest in teaching Intermediate Macroeconomics and/or Econometrics at the undergraduate level. Willingness to teach other classes as needed. JOE Signals will be considered.

Job Responsibilities: Tennessee Technological University and the College of Business emphasize quality teaching and mentoring. The typical teaching load is 9 hours (3 classes) per semester. Coursework is typically in traditional classroom but also occurs in online and hybrid learning environments. Research leading to refereed publications is required. Service to the university and the profession are expected.

The College: Serving 1,400 students, Tennessee Tech’s College of Business holds AACSB accreditation and offers undergraduate degrees in Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Decision Sciences, and Accounting. The BS in Economics is a STEM-designated degree that focuses on the quantitative aspects of economics along with an emphasis in econometrics. The College also offers graduate degrees in Business (M.B.A.) and Accounting (MAcc), as well a range of minors and certificates.

The University: Serving around 10,100 students, Tennessee Technological University is located in Cookeville- one hour from Nashville and situated in the Upper Cumberland Region of Middle Tennessee.
