The Building Inclusive Growth (BIG) Lab is a research center in the Department of Economics at the University of Notre Dame, bringing some of the world’s best researchers together to find innovative, long-lasting solutions to lift vulnerable populations in developing countries out of extreme poverty.
Postdoctoral Fellows are encouraged to build on existing projects within the Lab, as well as continuing their own research agendas. Responsibilities include producing research articles, contributing to the scientific content of research proposals, and supporting policymaker outreach activities. Faculty leading the lab include Joseph Kaboski, Taryn Dinkelman, and Lakshmi Iyer. There are no teaching obligations.
We especially encourage applicants with an interest in macro-development.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will receive a full-time, one-year appointment for the academic year 2024-25 that is renewable annually. An employment term of at least two years is preferred.
Qualifications:
PhD in economics or related field by June 30, 2024
Ability to independently drive research projects and produce independent, high-quality original empirical research
Demonstrated interest in development economics
Strong interpersonal skills, and willingness to interact with a wide range of individuals ranging from Research Associates to academics, donors, research institutions, etc.
